Well my last blog was about fighting everything. Not much has changed. We filed for bankruptcy protection late last year. That stopped the town, saved the house and is costing us up the butt to pay off. But we will get there.
The husband is still in college, some days are worse than others. Health is always a big fight for him, and we know he is declining but too stubborn to quit. He will not be returning to the Monument this year. He is down to just over a year before he gets his bachelors and as much as we need the money, the schedule thing doesn't work out at all. So he will concentrate on school and ask the VA to increase his rating. They finally admitted one of the medications Gulf War Vets were given causes one of his illnesses. PB (progesterone bromide) pills cause problems with ulcers, digestive problems and barrett's esophagus for which he has had a confirmed diagnosis for over 10 years.
The daughter who had the accident may never be the same little girl she was and we are still fighting the bus company.
I am no longer working in Bennington, my company shut our facility and moved us. I now have a 45 minute commute each way, and now have to work days. The good news is I still have a job. They are no longer giving us any bonus money or travel pay. But in this crappy economy I'll hold on to it.
My son and I are thinking about getting a paper route for some scratch money. And the best news is WE WON A JEEP! OMG it was such a thrilling thing.
